I know 5.0 had native .mp3 encoding support. They removed it in newer revisions for many reasons around 2006/2007 (music industry pressure or whathave you)
If any of you still have an old Sound Blaster AWE 64 Driver install disk, it's still on there.
I liked Wave Studio 5, because it's was a good, fast cheap wave editor. If you needed to make a quick edit or cut on sound samples, (or whatever) and/or save them as Mp3s, this was the program. Was still working in Windows 7 64 Professional, before my HDD crash. Gonna have to check my backups, sometime.
